WHEN SHOULD ONE PRAY?

§ “Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17):

• “continuously giving thanks to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ for everything”

• “with every sort of prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18)

• “the one who unites prayer to his deeds and his deeds to prayer, prays unceasingly” (Origen).

§ It is always possible to pray: “It is even possible to make a frequent and fervent prayer at the market of during a solitary walk. It is even possible in your shop, while you are cooking” (St. John Chrysostom).
